Haploidentical granulocyte-colony stimulating factor-mobilized peripheral blood mononuclear cells (haplo-G-PBMCs) is an investigational cellular therapy developed by the Department of Hematology at Xinqiao Hospital, Third Military Medical University. This therapy involves the collection of mononuclear cells from a haploidentical (half-matched) related donor who has been treated with granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) to mobilize hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells into the peripheral blood. In the clinical setting, these cells are infused into patients with hematologic malignancies, typically following autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (auto-HSCT). The goal of this approach is to provide a graft-versus-tumor (GVT) effect and accelerate immune reconstitution without the high risk of severe graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) associated with full allogeneic transplants, thereby improving outcomes in patients with high-risk or relapsed blood cancers.
