haritaki churna

Haritaki churna is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal formulation consisting of the powdered fruit of *Terminalia chebula*. It is traditionally used for gastrointestinal health and as a rejuvenative (Rasayana) tonic. Modern pharmacological studies indicate that its aqueous extract (HCAE) possesses significant anti-cancer activity, particularly against colorectal and esophageal cancer cells. Its mechanism involves the action of bioactive polyphenols like ellagic acid and chebulinic acid, which induce S-phase cell cycle arrest and mitochondrial apoptosis.
