Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HarMono-T is a targeted ultrasound contrast agent (microbubble) developed by Solstice Pharmaceuticals B.V. for the characterization of indeterminate kidney lesions. It is specifically designed to target Carbonic Anhydrase IX (CAIX), a biomarker that is highly overexpressed in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) but absent in most benign renal tissues and other kidney cancer subtypes. By binding to CAIX, HarMono-T enhances the ultrasound signal within malignant lesions, enabling non-invasive differentiation of ccRCC from benign masses or less aggressive tumors. This approach aims to improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce unnecessary surgical interventions for patients with small renal masses.
