Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HarMono-T is a monodisperse ultrasound contrast agent (UCA) developed by Solstice Pharmaceuticals. It utilizes perflutren (octafluoropropane) gas encapsulated within a lipid shell to form microbubbles of uniform size. Unlike traditional polydisperse contrast agents that contain microbubbles of varying diameters, HarMono-T is engineered to be monodisperse, which is intended to optimize the acoustic resonance of the bubbles at specific ultrasound frequencies. This uniformity enhances the sensitivity and resolution of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) imaging, particularly for harmonic imaging. The agent is primarily being investigated for the characterization of indeterminate kidney lesions, where it improves the visualization of renal microvascular blood flow and perfusion patterns to assist in differentiating between benign and malignant masses. HarMono-T is currently undergoing Phase I/II clinical evaluation.
