It is formulated to provide nutritional support for the increased musculoskeletal needs of active and older horses, particularly those experiencing joint pain, stiffness, or locomotor discomfort associated with conditions like osteoarthritis. The primary active ingredient is *Harpagophytum procumbens* (Devil's Claw), which is standardized for its content of harpagosides. Harpagosides are bioactive compounds known for their natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, primarily acting through the inhibition of inflammatory pathways. The product is also enriched with plant-based omega-3 fatty acids derived from linseed and linseed oil to further support joint health. Due to the presence of harpagosides, Harpagyl is subject to anti-doping regulations in competitive equestrian sports and must be withdrawn at least 48 hours prior to competition.
