Overview

HAVCR1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to knock down the expression of Hepatitis A Virus Cellular Receptor 1 (HAVCR1, also known as TIM-1). In preclinical research, HAVCR1 siRNA has been utilized to investigate the role of HAVCR1 in various cancers, including breast cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma. Knockdown of HAVCR1 in breast cancer cell lines (such as MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231) has been shown to alter cellular functions, including enhancing cell adhesion, proliferation, and migration, reducing tight junction integrity, and increasing endothelial cell invasion across the blood-brain barrier. It is primarily used as a research-use-only laboratory reagent.
