Overview

**HB-101** is an investigational, bivalent prophylactic vaccine intended to prevent human cytomegalovirus infection, particularly in kidney-transplant recipients at risk of donor-derived CMV. Developed by HOOKIPA Pharma using its non-replicating Vaxwave arenavirus platform, it consists of two replication-deficient lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus vectors encoding human CMV glycoprotein B and phosphoprotein 65. The gB component is intended to elicit CMV-neutralizing antibodies, while pp65 is intended to induce CMV-specific cellular immune responses. HB-101 completed Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical studies; following Phase 2 results, HOOKIPA stated that it would not continue investing in the program.
