Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HB-1614 is a proprietary, oral formulation of 4-methylumbelliferone (4-MU) developed by Halo Biosciences for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD). The drug is designed to inhibit hyaluronan synthesis, a key driver of extracellular matrix remodeling involved in inflammation and fibrosis. By targeting this pathway, HB-1614 aims to provide a novel, disease-modifying approach for PH-ILD and potentially other fibrotic conditions. Clinical studies have shown that HB-1614 may improve exercise capacity in adults with PH-ILD[1][6].
