Overview

HB-MSC1 is an investigational allogeneic mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy derived from umbilical cord tissue, currently under development by the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Reims. It is specifically designed for the treatment of critical limb ischemia (CLI) in patients with atheromatous arteriopathy who are undergoing revascularization. The therapy involves the intramuscular administration of 60 to 120 million cells into the affected limb shortly after the surgical or endovascular procedure. HB-MSC1 is hypothesized to enhance the outcomes of revascularization by promoting angiogenesis, modulating the local inflammatory environment, and facilitating tissue repair through the secretion of various growth factors and cytokines.
