Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HB0666 is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Hualan Genetic Engineering, a subsidiary of Hualan Biological Engineering, targeting proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9). PCSK9 is a key regulator of cholesterol metabolism that promotes the degradation of low-density lipoprotein receptors (LDLR) in the liver. By binding to and neutralizing PCSK9, HB0666 prevents the degradation of LDLR, thereby increasing the number of receptors available on the hepatocyte surface to clear low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) from the blood. The drug is intended for the treatment of patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and mixed dyslipidemia who require additional LDL-C lowering. It is currently undergoing clinical evaluation in China.
