Overview

HB4208 is a polypeptide DNA Damage Response (DDR) enzyme being developed by Helix BioMedix for the topical treatment of Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP). XP is a rare genetic disorder characterized by an extreme sensitivity to ultraviolet (UV) radiation and a failure of the nucleotide excision repair (NER) system, leading to the accumulation of DNA damage and a high incidence of skin malignancies. HB4208 is designed to supplement or modulate the skin's DNA repair pathways to mitigate UV-induced damage. The candidate is currently in the early preclinical stage of development.
