HBI-2448 is a novel small molecule inhibitor targeting WEE1, a kinase that plays a critical role in regulating the cell cycle and DNA damage response. By inhibiting WEE1, HBI-2448 promotes cell cycle progression and increases sensitivity to DNA-damaging agents such as radiation. This mechanism is particularly relevant in cancer therapy, as WEE1 is highly expressed in various tumor types including lung, head & neck, urothelial, testis, cervical cancers, and lymphomas. The drug has demonstrated good safety and efficacy in preclinical models both as a single agent and in combination with other therapies. HBI-2448 was initially developed by HUYA Bioscience International (HUYABIO) and remains at the preclinical development stage for solid tumors[1][2][3][5].
