Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HBI-26 is an investigational microbiome-based therapeutic candidate developed by the Human Biome Institute for the treatment of *Clostridioides difficile* infection (CDI). As a live biotherapeutic product (LBP), HBI-26 is designed to restore intestinal microbial homeostasis and provide colonization resistance against *C. difficile* by replenishing beneficial bacterial populations. It is part of a broader pipeline of microbiome-targeted therapies from the Human Biome Institute, which also includes fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) preparations and defined microbial consortia aimed at treating dysbiosis-related conditions.
