The rationale for combining these agents is based on their complementary mechanisms—epigenetic modulation by HBI-8000 may enhance immune response or sensitize tumors to chemotherapy and targeted therapy; paclitaxel provides direct cytotoxicity; trastuzumab targets HER2-positive cancer cells. This specific triple regimen is under investigation primarily for advanced/metastatic breast cancer with HER2 overexpression but may be explored in other solid tumors.
