Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HBL20017 (4-fluoro-5-methylthio-N,N-dimethyltryptamine) is a novel, non-selective, and putatively non-hallucinogenic serotonin receptor agonist of the tryptamine family. It is being developed by Negev Labs and Parow Entheobiosciences for the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and potentially tic disorders such as Tourette's syndrome. Chemically related to 5-MeO-DMT, HBL20017 acts as an agonist at the 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A, 5-HT2B, and 5-HT2C receptors. Unlike other serotonergic psychedelics, it does not induce a head-twitch response (HTR) in rodent models, suggesting it lacks hallucinogenic properties. In preclinical studies, a single dose of HBL20017 demonstrated long-lasting antiobsessional-like effects, significantly reducing obsessive self-grooming and marble burying in mice for up to 42 days.
