This combination is standard in recombinant hepatitis B vaccines. The mechanism involves the presentation of HBsAg to the immune system, which induces both humoral and, to a lesser degree, cellular immunity, providing protection against hepatitis B virus infection. Aluminum hydroxide increases antigen uptake and presentation by antigen-presenting cells, favoring a Th2-dominant response that boosts antibody titers[1][5][7].
