**HBV-MPL vaccine formulation B** was an investigational GSK recombinant hepatitis B prophylactic vaccine formulation containing hepatitis B surface antigen and the immunostimulatory adjuvant monophosphoryl lipid A. It was designed to induce protective active immunity against hepatitis B virus infection and was evaluated as a two-dose intramuscular regimen administered at months 0 and 6, including in healthy adolescents in a Phase 2 study comparing two HBV-MPL formulations with Engerix-B.
