HBV TCR-bispecific antibody is a preclinical immunotherapy candidate developed by Lion TCR for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B (CHB). Unlike the company's lead TCR-T cell therapies, this modality is an "off-the-shelf" bispecific protein designed to redirect the patient's endogenous T cells to eliminate HBV-infected hepatocytes. The molecule typically consists of a T-cell receptor (TCR) domain, or a TCR-like antibody fragment, that recognizes specific HBV-derived viral peptides presented by Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) molecules on the surface of infected cells. This targeting domain is linked to an anti-CD3 effector domain that binds and activates non-specific T cells, triggering the targeted lysis of HBV-infected cells. This approach aims to achieve a functional cure by significantly reducing the viral reservoir in the liver.
