Overview

A recombinant protein vaccine candidate for the prevention of hepatitis B infection, developed by Xiamen Wan Tai (also known as Beijing Wantai Biological Pharmacy). The vaccine utilizes an *Escherichia coli* expression system to produce the recombinant hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg), which serves as the active immunogen. This production platform distinguishes it from most commercially available hepatitis B vaccines that typically use yeast or mammalian cell systems. The vaccine is designed to elicit protective anti-HBs antibodies to prevent infection by the hepatitis B virus. It is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
