Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HBW-015 (also known as HBW-015-15) is a small molecule analgesic being developed by Hyperway Pharmaceutical for the treatment of pain, including neuropathic pain. The compound targets a novel, undisclosed pain pathway that is abundantly expressed on small-diameter primary sensory neurons, with the goal of providing a non-addictive therapeutic alternative to opioid analgesics. In preclinical studies using a rat model of chronic constriction injury (CCI), oral administration of HBW-015 demonstrated significant analgesic effects within 30 minutes that persisted for over four hours. The candidate shows favorable pharmacokinetic profiles in rats and dogs, approximately 50% oral bioavailability in rats, and high selectivity with minimal inhibition of a broad panel of kinases and ion channels. HBW-015 is currently in the preclinical and IND-enabling stage of development.
