Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HcHAb18 is a humanized monoclonal antibody directed against CD147 (also known as Basigin or EMMPRIN), a cell surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in many solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). CD147 is involved in promoting tumor cell proliferation, apoptosis resistance, and the induction of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) which facilitate extracellular matrix degradation and metastasis. By binding to CD147, HcHAb18 aims to block these oncogenic pathways. The drug was developed by Jiangsu Pacific Meinuoke Biopharmaceutical and has been investigated in early-phase clinical trials for safety and preliminary efficacy in patients with advanced NSCLC.
