Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HCP-20A is a topical cream formulation developed by Healthcare Product Development for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (atopic eczema). It is a botanical-based product containing a combination of anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agents, with *Boswellia serrata* extract as a primary active component. *Boswellia serrata* contains boswellic acids that act as inhibitors of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LOX), an enzyme involved in the production of pro-inflammatory leukotrienes. The drug has been evaluated in a Phase 2 pilot study in the United Kingdom to assess its safety and clinical efficacy in patients with atopic eczema.
