HCP1007 is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) drug candidate developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical for the treatment of dyslipidemia, specifically targeting patients with hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. It combines rosuvastatin, a potent HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin), with omega-3 fatty acids (typically eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid). Rosuvastatin lowers LDL cholesterol by inhibiting the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, while omega-3 fatty acids reduce serum triglyceride levels by inhibiting hepatic lipogenesis and increasing fatty acid oxidation. This combination therapy is designed to provide a comprehensive lipid-lowering effect and improve patient compliance by reducing the pill burden associated with managing mixed dyslipidemia.
