Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HCR040 is an allogeneic cell therapy developed by Histocell, consisting of adipose-derived adult mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) designated as HC016. These cells are expanded and pulsed with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) during the manufacturing process to enhance their resistance to oxidative stress and boost their immunomodulatory properties. This priming is intended to improve cell survival and therapeutic efficacy when administered into the highly inflammatory and oxidative environment characteristic of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). HCR040 aims to reduce pulmonary inflammation and promote tissue repair in patients suffering from severe respiratory failure.
