Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The HCV cVLP vaccine is a preclinical-stage prophylactic vaccine candidate developed by AdaptVac for the prevention of Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. It utilizes AdaptVac's proprietary capsid virus-like particle (cVLP) technology, which involves the display of the HCV envelope protein E2 on the surface of a virus-like particle. This platform is designed to mimic the structure of a real virus to induce a potent and broad immune response, specifically targeting the E2 protein to prevent viral entry into host cells. The vaccine aims to provide a solution for the global burden of Hepatitis C, for which no approved vaccine currently exists.
