HCW9206 is a proprietary multifunctional fusion protein developed by HCW Biologics. It consists of three human cytokines—interleukin-7 (IL-7), interleukin-15 (IL-15), and interleukin-21 (IL-21)—engineered into a single molecule to deliver synergistic immune-stimulatory signals[1][5]. The primary application of HCW9206 is as an ex vivo reagent to enhance the manufacturing process of chimeric antigen receptor T cells (CAR-Ts). Compared to standard CAR-T production methods using anti-CD3/anti-CD28 and IL-2, HCW9206 significantly improves viral transduction efficiency, expansion, and persistence of stem cell-like memory T cells (Tscm) carrying CAR constructs[2][3][5]. These Tscm-enriched CAR-Ts demonstrate superior in vivo persistence and targeted cytotoxicity in preclinical models for both HIV-1 infection and CD19-positive leukemia. The technology aims to streamline CAR-T manufacturing, reduce costs, improve long-term therapeutic outcomes for cancer, autoimmune diseases, chronic infections, and age-related conditions[2][3][5].
