Overview

HCXT-2001 is an investigational oral macrocyclic peptide inhibitor of the IL-23 receptor, originally developed by PepStar Therapeutics. It is in Phase 1 clinical development, and its safety and efficacy have not been established. On 22 October 2026, Gilead announced an agreement to acquire worldwide rights to the IL-23R inhibitor program, including HCXT-2001, with closing expected in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary conditions. Gilead describes potential use alone or in combination, including with emvistegrast, in inflammatory bowel disease.
