Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The HD-MAP typhoid vaccine is a second-generation typhoid conjugate vaccine (TCV) being developed by Vaxxas in collaboration with SK bioscience and the International Vaccine Institute (IVI). It utilizes Vaxxas' proprietary high-density microarray patch (HD-MAP) technology, a needle-free delivery system consisting of thousands of microscopic projections coated with a dried vaccine formulation. The active ingredient is SKYTyphoid, a typhoid conjugate vaccine antigen developed by SK bioscience. By delivering the vaccine directly to the dense population of immune cells just below the skin surface, the HD-MAP platform aims to enhance immune response and provide superior thermostability compared to traditional liquid vaccines, potentially eliminating the need for cold-chain storage and enabling easier administration in resource-limited settings.
