Drug intelligence / Profile preview
hdm-ASIT+ is a peptide-based allergen immunotherapy product candidate composed of a mixture of short peptides derived from house dust mite allergens, developed to induce immune tolerance in patients with house dust mite–induced allergic rhinitis. It is designed as a short-course, subcutaneous immunotherapy that aims to modulate allergen-specific immune responses, reducing symptoms and medication use associated with perennial house dust mite allergy.[1][2][6][9][12] The product was developed by ASIT biotech (initially building on work from European Medical Solutions) as part of the ASIT+ platform, which uses selected allergen-derived peptides rather than full allergen extracts to improve safety and tolerability while retaining immunogenicity.[2][3][6] In a first-in-human Phase I/IIa trial in house dust mite rhinitis, hdm-ASIT+ demonstrated a favorable safety and tolerability profile with no serious or unexpected treatment-related adverse events even at high allergen doses, although clinical efficacy signals (e.g., in conjunctival provocation testing and immunogenicity parameters) were limited and non-significant at this stage.[1][2][6][12]
