Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HDM7005 is an investigational, orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of coagulation factor XIa (FXIa) developed by Huadong Medicine (Hangzhou Zhongmei Huadong Pharmaceutical). Factor XIa is a key enzyme in the intrinsic pathway of the coagulation cascade, and its inhibition is hypothesized to provide potent antithrombotic effects while significantly reducing the risk of major bleeding compared to traditional anticoagulants that target the common pathway, such as warfarin or direct factor Xa inhibitors. The drug is currently in Phase 1 clinical development for the prevention and treatment of various thrombotic conditions, including atherosclerosis, ischemic cardiovascular disease, ischemic cerebrovascular disease, and venous thrombosis.
