Overview

HDT-201 is a preclinical-stage intranasal antiviral candidate developed by HDT Bio. It consists of a broad-spectrum, thermostable RIG-I activating RNA (RAR) molecule formulated with the proprietary LION™ (Lipid Inorganic Nanoparticle) nucleic acid delivery platform. HDT-201 is designed to activate the body's innate immune response via the Retinoic Acid-Inducible Gene I (RIG-I) pathway, providing a rapid, localized defense against respiratory viruses. It is being investigated as both a pre-exposure and post-exposure prophylactic, as well as a therapeutic for respiratory infectious diseases, including SARS-CoV-2, influenza A, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). The RAR molecule was originally developed at the University of Washington. The drug is notable for its stability, remaining room-temperature stable for up to six months and refrigerator stable for at least 18 months.
