Overview

HDT-331 is a self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) vaccine candidate developed by HDT Bio in collaboration with the University of Texas Medical Branch. It is designed to provide immunization against Nipah virus (NiV), a highly pathogenic zoonotic virus with pandemic potential. The vaccine utilizes the proprietary LION™ delivery system, which stabilizes and transports the saRNA into cells, where it amplifies and expresses viral antigens to stimulate an immune response. The primary mechanism of action is immunostimulation, aiming to induce both humoral and cellular immunity against Nipah virus infection. As of late 2022, development was at the research/preclinical stage[1][2][4][8].
