Overview

HDT-521 is a self-amplifying RNA (saRNA) vaccine candidate developed by HDT Bio for the prevention of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever (CCHF). The vaccine utilizes HDT Bio's proprietary Lipid Inorganic Nanoparticle (LION) delivery system, which is designed to enhance the stability and immunogenicity of the RNA payload. By using saRNA, the vaccine can potentially achieve high levels of antigen expression at lower doses compared to conventional mRNA vaccines. HDT-521 is intended to address the significant public health threat posed by CCHF, a tick-borne viral disease with high mortality rates for which no widely approved vaccine currently exists. The program has received support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to advance into clinical evaluation.
