HDT-531 is a preclinical mRNA-based cancer immunotherapy being developed by HDT Bio in collaboration with the University of Washington and PAI Life Sciences. The therapeutic utilizes HDT Bio's proprietary **LION** (Localized Inorganic-Organic Nanoparticle) delivery system, which is a stable, cationic lipid emulsion designed to deliver **self-amplifying RNA** (saRNA). Unlike traditional lipid nanoparticles that encapsulate RNA, the LION platform binds the saRNA to the surface of the nanoparticle, enhancing stability and ease of manufacturing. HDT-531 is specifically designed to treat colorectal cancer by inducing a robust, antigen-specific immune response against tumor cells. As of late 2023, the program remains in the preclinical stage of development.
