Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HDV-Insulin Lispro is a novel formulation that combines insulin lispro with Hepatocyte-Directed Vesicles (HDV) technology. This formulation is designed to target insulin delivery specifically to the liver, reestablishing the liver as a major metabolic modulator of glucose metabolism. The technology appears to enhance the antihyperglycemic effect of insulin by stimulating hepatic glucose uptake and/or glycogen storage in insulin-deficient patients. HDV-Insulin Lispro works by delivering insulin more directly to hepatocytes, potentially allowing for improved glycemic control with reduced risk of hypoglycemia compared to standard insulin lispro.
