Overview

HE-2200 is a synthetic androgenic steroid also known as beta-AET or Reversionex. It acts primarily as an agonist of the androgen receptor and has been investigated for its immunomodulatory properties. The drug was developed for potential use in treating adverse effects of chemotherapy (such as neutropenia), hyperlipidemia (including hypercholesterolemia), autoimmune diseases (such as multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel disease), immunologic deficiency syndromes including HIV/AIDS-related conditions and viral hepatitis B. Its mechanism involves modulation of immune responses via androgen receptor activation[1][2][3][4][6]. Development reached up to phase 2 clinical trials before being discontinued.
