Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Heal Quick is a topical pharmaceutical cream containing 2% phenytoin, produced by Al Hadidi Pharm. Although phenytoin is traditionally known as a systemic anticonvulsant, Heal Quick is specifically formulated for wound management. The therapeutic effect of topical phenytoin is attributed to its ability to stimulate fibroblast proliferation, increase the formation of granulation tissue, and decrease collagenase activity, which collectively accelerate the process of epithelialization and angiogenesis. It is primarily used to promote healing in post-operative wounds, such as those following anal sphincterotomy, as well as in chronic conditions like diabetic foot ulcers and pressure sores. The formulation allows for localized regenerative action with minimal systemic absorption.
