Overview

Heat-treated Bifidobacterium longum ES1 (HT-ES1) is a postbiotic derived from the Bifidobacterium longum strain CECT 7347. Unlike live probiotics, HT-ES1 consists of heat-inactivated microbial cells that retain biological activity and confer health benefits to the host. Developed by ADM (Biopolis), HT-ES1 is primarily investigated for its ability to modulate the gut microbiota, reinforce the intestinal barrier, and exert anti-inflammatory effects. It has been clinically evaluated for the management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Diarrhea (IBS-D) and has shown potential in supporting individuals with gluten-related disorders, such as Celiac disease, by reducing intestinal inflammation and permeability.
