Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Heat-treated *Lacticaseibacillus paracasei* PS23 (HT-PS23) is a postbiotic consisting of heat-killed bacterial cells of the PS23 strain. Developed by Bened Biomedical (Bened Life), it is designed to modulate the gut-brain axis. Clinical research indicates its potential in reducing anxiety and stress, improving sleep quality, and enhancing cognitive function and muscle strength, particularly in elderly populations. Its mechanism of action involves the modulation of neurotransmitters like dopamine, reduction of stress hormones such as cortisol, and regulation of inflammatory cytokines (IL-6, TNF-α, CRP) and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). It is commercially available as a dietary supplement under the brand name Neuralli Mood.
