Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HEC137076 is a small molecule new chemical entity (NCE) being developed by Sunshine Lake Pharma for the treatment of migraine. It acts as an agonist of the 5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 1F (5-HT1F). Unlike traditional triptans, which target 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D receptors and can cause vasoconstriction, 5-HT1F agonists (often referred to as ditans) are designed to provide migraine relief by inhibiting the trigeminal system without affecting blood vessel diameter, potentially offering a safer profile for patients with cardiovascular concerns. HEC137076 is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
