Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tuspamın is an herbal syrup containing *Hedera helix* (ivy) leaf extract, developed and manufactured by the Turkish pharmaceutical company Vefa İlaç. Indicated for the treatment of cough and bronchitis, it functions as a botanical expectorant. The active ingredient, *Hedera helix* leaf extract, works through secretolytic and secretomotor actions to reduce mucus viscosity and facilitate its clearance from the respiratory tract. Additionally, it exhibits spasmolytic properties by indirectly enhancing β2-adrenergic signaling, which helps to relax bronchial smooth muscle. Tuspamın is available over-the-counter in Turkey and is formulated as a 100 ml oral syrup.
