Overview

HeFi-1 is a murine monoclonal antibody that specifically binds to the human CD30 antigen, a member of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. CD30 is expressed on activated T-cells, Reed-Sternberg cells (in Hodgkin's lymphoma), anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), and some AIDS-related lymphomas. By binding to the ligand-binding site of CD30, HeFi-1 induces apoptosis and cell-cycle arrest in malignant cells, primarily causing G1 phase arrest. Preclinical studies demonstrated that HeFi-1 can inhibit tumor growth and prolong survival in murine models of human ALCL and other CD30-positive malignancies. In clinical settings, it has been evaluated in phase I trials for patients with refractory or relapsed CD30-positive cancers such as Hodgkin's disease, ALCL, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, and adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma[1][2][4][5][6].
