Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Helinorm is a metabiotic dietary supplement developed by MG Lifecare for the eradication of *Helicobacter pylori* and the management of associated gastrointestinal conditions such as gastric ulcers and gastritis. The active ingredient is Pylopass, which consists of inactivated cells of the probiotic strain *Limosilactobacillus reuteri* (formerly *Lactobacillus reuteri*) DSMZ17648. Unlike traditional live probiotics, this metabiotic functions through a physical mechanism of action where the inactivated bacterial cells specifically recognize and bind to surface receptors on the *H. pylori* cell wall. This binding forms coaggregates that are subsequently flushed out of the gastrointestinal tract through natural excretion, effectively reducing the *H. pylori* bacterial load without disrupting the commensal gut microbiota.
