Helixil is a botanical extract product developed and marketed by Quimica Ariston, a pharmaceutical company based in Ecuador. The active ingredient is *Hedera helix* (ivy leaf) extract, which functions as a secretolytic and expectorant. Formulated as an oral syrup, it is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of productive cough associated with bronchial affections and respiratory conditions characterized by bronchial congestion. The product works by reducing the viscosity of bronchial mucus and supporting bronchial clearance through its fluidifying and bronchodilatory properties. As a natural medicine modality, it provides a botanical alternative to synthetic small molecule expectorants and is approved for commercial use in Ecuador.
