Overview

Helixor M is a non-fermented, aqueous fresh plant extract derived from mistletoe (Viscum album) harvested from apple trees (Malus). It is primarily used in integrative oncology as a complementary and supportive treatment alongside conventional cancer therapies. The medication is typically administered via subcutaneous injection, usually three times per week. It contains extract from fresh apple tree mistletoe, specifically from two and a half year old shoots including leaves, stems, flowers, and berries. The manufacturing process involves combining winter/spring and summer/autumn harvests in a specific ratio (three parts winter extract to one part summer extract) using a special whirling process. Research indicates Helixor M possesses anti-inflammatory properties (inhibiting NF-κB, TLR4, PI3K, COX2, reducing pro-inflammatory cytokines), immunomodulatory effects (strengthening the immune system, stimulating immune cells), and components (viscotoxins, lectins) known to kill cancer cells. Reported therapeutic effects beyond direct biological action include reduction of fatigue, normalization of mood, sleep patterns, and body temperature, and potential mitigation of chemotherapy and radiotherapy side effects. It is manufactured by Helixor Heilmittel GmbH in Germany.
