Hemospray

Hemospray (TC-325) is a proprietary, inorganic, mineral-based hemostatic powder developed by Cook Medical for the treatment of non-variceal gastrointestinal bleeding. Delivered endoscopically via a pressurized CO2 delivery system, the powder is non-contact and non-thermal, allowing for the treatment of large-surface-area bleeding where traditional mechanical or thermal therapies may be difficult to apply. Upon contact with blood or moisture at the bleeding site, the powder absorbs water to form a cohesive and adhesive gel-like matrix. This physical barrier mechanically seals the bleeding vessel while simultaneously concentrating clotting factors and platelets to accelerate the natural coagulation cascade. It is primarily indicated for upper and lower gastrointestinal bleeding, including peptic ulcers, post-polypectomy bleeding, and malignancy-related hemorrhage.
