Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Hemp seed soft capsules (also known as Maren soft capsules or 麻仁软胶囊) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulation developed and manufactured by China Central Pharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Tianjin Lisheng Pharmaceutical). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of functional and occasional constipation, particularly constipation associated with dryness in the intestines (腸燥便秘). The formulation consists of six active herbal ingredients: hemp seed (Cannabis Semen / 火麻仁), bitter apricot seed (Armeniacae Semen Amarum / 苦杏仁), rhubarb (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma / 大黄), immature bitter orange (Aurantii Fructus Immaturus / 麸炒枳实), magnolia bark (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex / 姜厚朴), and white peony root (Paeoniae Radix Alba / 炒白芍). It works by moistening the intestines, promoting bowel movements, and relieving abdominal distension.
