HepaCure

**HepaCure** is an investigational bioartificial liver support product developed by Hexaell Biotech for **acute-on-chronic liver failure**. It is a drug-device combination centered on allogeneic human induced hepatocyte-like cells, known as hiHep cells, which are generated by direct transdifferentiation of human fibroblasts and housed in an extracorporeal plasma biopurification column. During dialysis-based treatment, the hiHep cells are intended to provide liver-like biosynthetic, metabolic, and detoxification functions while exchanging substances with patient plasma. HepaCure is being evaluated with double plasma molecular adsorption system and liver plasma exchange in a Phase 1/2 study in China.
