Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Hepadvax** is Vaxine's investigational adjuvanted hepatitis B vaccine being developed as a therapeutic vaccine for chronic hepatitis B virus infection. The registered HBV003 study describes the experimental vaccine as preS hepatitis B surface antigen formulated with Advax-2, an adjuvant system containing delta-inulin microparticles and CpG oligonucleotides. The intended mechanism is to enhance hepatitis B surface antigen-specific humoral and cellular immunity, including antiviral T-cell responses, to support HBV viral control and potentially hepatitis B surface antigen seroconversion in chronically infected individuals. It has been studied previously in prophylactic hepatitis B vaccine development and is registered for a Phase 1 chronic hepatitis B study.
