Drug intelligence / Profile preview
HEPAKRO-SM is a fixed-dose combination tablet developed by Croise Pharma for hepatoprotection and the management of various acute and chronic liver disorders, including fatty liver disease (steatosis), alcoholic liver damage, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), hepatitis, jaundice, and liver cirrhosis. The formulation combines five active ingredients: metadoxine, silymarin, L-ornithine L-aspartate, pyridoxine (vitamin B6), and folic acid. Metadoxine acts as an antioxidant and accelerates alcohol clearance from the blood. Silymarin, derived from milk thistle, provides antioxidant protection, prevents free radical-induced liver damage, and stimulates protein synthesis to promote liver cell regeneration. L-ornithine L-aspartate reduces blood ammonia levels by stimulating the urea cycle, thereby supporting detoxification and helping prevent hepatic encephalopathy. Pyridoxine and folic acid are essential micronutrients that address nutritional deficiencies commonly associated with chronic liver diseases.
